Lorenzo Civilla is a Senior Scientist and PhD candidate at the Medical University of Vienna, specializing in 3D printing, augmented reality, and surgical simulation. His research focuses on developing patient-specific simulators and AR-based tools to enhance neurosurgical training and preoperative planning. As part of the Additive Manufacturing for Medical Research group, Civilla co-developed SIMIS, a neurosurgical simulator that earned him the Inventor of the Year 2024 award.
