Derek Brandt is Vice President of Government Relations at The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS), where he leads advocacy efforts shaping healthcare policy for cardiothoracic surgery. A lawyer by training, with a J.D. from The George Washington University Law School, he brings extensive experience in government affairs and leadership across healthcare and medtech. He is also CEO of DCB Innovation, an Investment Committee Member at Serpentine Ventures’ Diabetes Venture Fund, and has held executive and board roles at Sensile Medical, LiVET, and Resistell. Based in Kensington, Maryland, Derek is committed to advancing innovation and improving patient care through strategic policy and investment.
