Charitè

Dr. rer. Nat. Erik Brauer studied biochemistry at the Freie Universität Berlin. For his PhD, he moved to the Julius Wolff Institute as part of the Charité university hospital Berlin where he studied cell-biomaterial interactions and their consequences for pro-regenerative cellular signaling events in the context of bone healing. He received his PhD in 2019 and since then continued to establish complex 3D in vitro model systems reproducing physiological processes of extracellular matrix formation and vascular sprouting. Since August 2024, he is a group member of the lab of Stefan Hecht from the Humboldt University (Department of Chemistry) with the goal to test, verify and advance opportunities for using Xolography for bioprinting applications.
